About the Role

Are you someone who takes pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces? Do you want a role where your work makes a real difference every single day?

At Crookhey Hall School, we're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic School Cleaner to join our friendly team. While your work may take place behind the scenes, it plays a vital role in ensuring our pupils and staff have a safe, clean and welcoming environment in which to learn, grow and thrive.

This is more than a cleaning role—it's an opportunity to become part of a caring school community where every member of staff contributes to improving the lives of children and young people.

Working alongside the Site Manager and wider school team, you'll help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the school, ensuring our facilities remain safe, hygienic and ready for each new day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal areas to a consistently high standard.
  • Carry out scheduled daily cleaning duties, as well as occasional deep cleaning and one-off tasks when required.
  • Ensure all areas of the school are clean, safe and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.
  • Safely use, store and handle cleaning equipment and materials in line with COSHH regulations.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and report when stock needs replenishing.
  • Identify and report maintenance, health and safety concerns promptly.
  • Work flexibly to support school events and operational needs.
  • Maintain excellent hygiene standards while contributing to a positive school environment.
  • Support the school's commitment to safeguarding by remaining vigilant and following all school policies and procedures

Who We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

    • Has previous cleaning experience, ideally within a school, healthcare or similar environment (although full training can be provided).
    • Has an understanding of safe cleaning practices and COSHH regulations.
    • Takes pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
    • Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently using their own initiative.
    • Has excellent attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Works well as part of a supportive team.
    • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
    • Holds a full UK Driving Licence.
