About the Role

Be the Person Who Helps a Young Person Believe They Can

Sometimes the biggest difference in a young person’s school day is having someone beside them who is patient, encouraging and believes in what they can achieve.

At Red Kite School, we’re looking for a caring and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and experience success.

You’ll work closely with teachers and the wider school team, providing personalised support both in and beyond the classroom. Whether you’re helping a pupil understand a new concept, encouraging them through a challenging moment or celebrating a breakthrough, you’ll have the opportunity to see the difference your support makes every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide individual and small group support to help pupils engage with learning and achieve their goals
  • Build positive and trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued and understood
  • Work alongside teachers to make learning engaging, accessible and enjoyable
  • Support pupils with their emotional wellbeing, confidence and personal development
  • Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and greater independence
  • Help create a calm, nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are ready to learn
  • Recognise and celebrate progress, including the smaller achievements that can lead to significant change

About You

We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference in the lives of children and young people.

You may already be working as a Teaching Assistant, or perhaps you have experience in education, childcare, youth work, care, coaching or another people-focused role. What matters most is your ability to build relationships, show empathy and help young people succeed.

  • Experienced in supporting children or young people, ideally within an educational setting
  • Patient, caring and able to build strong, positive relationships
  • Calm, resilient and confident when faced with challenges
  • Adaptable and creative in your approach to supporting learning
  • A supportive team player who enjoys working collaboratively
  • Passionate about helping young people reach their full potential
